Busted - Mick Jagger 1967
Mick gets busted in 1967 for drug possession at Keith’s home and spends one night in jail. At the time, these rock n rollers were enemy number 1 to the British authorities and they were doing everything they could to lock them up. Their hedonistic lifestyle was looked down upon by the stuffy Brits and they were viewed as evil. Kinda funny looking back now but in reality, they were breaking new ground and at ground zero of this new Rock n Roll culture. They invented and represented in every way what we know as the “Rock Star” today. They were just a dirty British band at the time that was the opposite of the squeaky clean Beatles who the Brits (and the world) loved. Who would have thought then that these five guys would still be a massive success over 50 years later?
This piece is mixed media and collage on panel board with acrylic, spray paint, pencil, and ink finished in resin.
